Cardigan Studios ("we", "us", or "our") operates SpringTale from New South Wales, Australia. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you use the SpringTale website, game, account services, shop, or contact us.

We collect the information needed to create and maintain your account, such as your email address, account identifier, and the information required to authenticate you. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not visible to Cardigan Studios in plain text.

When you use SpringTale, we may collect technical and service information such as your IP address, browser or device information, session and security records, and information needed to operate your game account and in-game entitlements.

If you buy gems, Stripe processes your payment details through its hosted checkout. We receive transaction and payment-status information needed to confirm the purchase and credit gems to your account; we do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

We use personal information to provide and secure SpringTale, create and administer accounts, process purchases and entitlements, respond to support requests, prevent fraud or misuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not use analytics, advertising, or marketing-tracking cookies on the SpringTale website. We use only cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to provide account sessions, security, and core website functionality.

We share information with trusted service providers that help us run SpringTale, including Supabase for account and database services and Stripe for payment processing. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices and, where applicable, on our behalf to provide their services.

We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law, to protect SpringTale and its players, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not sell personal information.

SpringTale is available to players worldwide. Our service providers may store or process information in Australia and other countries. When information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with this policy and applicable law.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee complete security, so please keep your account credentials confidential and contact us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate SpringTale, meet legal and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and maintain service security. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that no longer identifies you.

You may ask us to provide access to, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable law and our legitimate requirements to retain certain records. You may also object to or restrict particular processing where those rights apply to you.

To make a request or lodge a privacy complaint, email hello@cardiganstudios.com with enough detail for us to identify your account and request. We will respond within a reasonable time. You may also have the right to complain to a privacy regulator in your location.

SpringTale does not set a minimum age for players. If you are responsible for a child using SpringTale, please help them understand this policy and supervise their use of the service as appropriate. We may update this policy as SpringTale changes or legal requirements evolve. We will post the updated policy here and revise the effective date when we do. Continued use of SpringTale after an update means you accept the updated policy to the extent permitted by law.
